Anita and Mahan's whole day embodied family, tradition, color, and love. The morning of the wedding, tradition had Mahan’s face (and arms and feet) smeared with turmeric by his family, and we were lucky enough to be there to witness it. We’d never seen this before, and it’s something with which we were both enamored--can we make it a part of every ceremony?!
That was soon followed by the placing of a turban onto Mahan's head and the draping of Anita's beaufiul sari, both witnessed by as many family members as the rooms could hold. Then bride and groom each set out for the ceremony in their incredibly beautiful wedding attire: Mahan hopped onto a horse, and we were off to a ceremony filled with tradition, beautiful colors, and lots of love.
The party that followed was fantastic--touching and funny toasts were followed by music from a band from Texas (Buzz and the Blue Cats). They were phenomenal, and had the entire crowd dancing and howling for more at the end of the night.
We had such an amazing time with so many beautiful, saturated colors, and so many warm and friendly people. Anita and Mahan are very lucky to be surrounded by so much love. Congratulations, you two!
We also wanted to mention the videographers from 8292 Productions--they were great, fun to work with, and their wedding videos are truly amazing.
